About the Company:

Midwest Esports began as a video game team at Wichita State University.  The players had a vision to expand opportunities for video game competitions and events. Their dream was realized with their first event in 2015.  The company has now grown exponentially and plans to host around 100 events in 2020.   The company is committed to making competitive video games into a healthy, structured, and educational sport.

Position Overview:

The Road Crew employee is responsible for assisting with logistical management of events and tournaments, including but not limited to setting up and tearing down equipment, and assisting with all aspects during the event to ensure a smooth experience for all.  

Job Responsibilities:

  • Load/unload equipment from trucks 
  • Set up and tear down venue according to floorplan
  • During event, work registration booth and front desk, greet participants, solve problems, resolve conflict, and assit with basic tournament operator duties as needed.
  • Inspect equipment for damage and check against inventory list before packing up equipment; ensure venue is cleaned according to requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience:

  • Highschool or GED required
  •     6 months of customer service experience preferred

Skills: 

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Able to drive a 15-26 foot truck
  • High interpersonal skills
  • Able to multi-task, solve problems, and manage conflict
  • Physical stamina and high energy level
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods lifting and moving equipment and walking around
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Travel and weekends frequently required
